Root Canal Therapy

The pulp of the tooth contains nerves and blood vessels.

Dr. Shvarts gives you the smile of your dreams Root canal therapy, also known as endodontic therapy, may be necessary when the tooth has extensive decay, the tooth has cracked or become chipped, or an infection has developed in the tooth.

The pulp of the tooth contains nerves and blood vessels. If the pulp becomes inflamed or infected it is necessary to remove the pulp. The inside of the tooth will then be cleaned and sealed. Decades ago, patients would fear root canals due to the expected pain. Now, with dental advances and uses of local anesthetics most patients have little to no pain with the procedure.
